1. Introduction

Welcome to POP. POP is a social platform designed to help people connect in small groups ("Pods"), express themselves safely, and share moments without pressure.

By accessing or using POP, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 13 years old to use POP.
• If you are under 18, you represent that you have permission from a parent or legal guardian.
• You may not use POP if you are prohibited from doing so by law.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate age requirements.

3. Accounts & Authentication

• POP uses phone number–based authentication.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
• You may not share your verification codes or impersonate others.
• We may suspend accounts involved in suspicious, abusive, or fraudulent activity.

4. SMS Messaging Program

Program Name: POP Verification Messages

Description: POP sends SMS messages containing one-time passcodes (OTP) for account login and verification. These messages are sent only when you request a verification code by entering your phone number and tapping "Send Code" in the POP mobile app.

Message Frequency: One message per login attempt. No recurring messages.

Message and Data Rates: Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan.

Opt-Out: You can opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. You will receive a confirmation and no further messages will be sent.

Help: For assistance with SMS messages, reply HELP to any message or contact us at support@poptheapp.com.

We do NOT send marketing, promotional, or advertising messages via SMS.

5. Pods, Content & User Behavior

Pods

• Pods are private groups.
• Only invited members can view pod content.
• You are responsible for who you invite.

Content You Share

You may share:

• Text
• Images
• Videos
• Anonymous posts ("Shadow" content)
• Interactive content (e.g., polls, pulses, games)

You agree not to post:

• Illegal content
• Harassment, hate speech, threats
• Sexual content involving minors
• Self-harm encouragement
• Content intended to cause harm

6. Anonymity & Shadow Content

POP allows anonymous expression in certain areas.

Important limits:

• Anonymity does not protect illegal behavior.
• We may restrict, remove, or report content if required by law or safety obligations.
• We may take action to prevent harm, even for anonymous content.

7. Safety, Moderation & AI

POP uses a combination of:

• Automated systems (including AI)
• Human review
• Community signals

These systems help:

• Detect harmful content
• Reduce abuse
• Support user well-being

We do not guarantee perfect moderation, but we actively work to keep POP safe.

8. Mental Health & Crisis Support

POP is not a medical or mental health service.

If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact:

• Local emergency services
• Crisis hotlines appropriate to your country

POP may surface support resources but does not replace professional care.

9. Intellectual Property

• You retain ownership of the content you create.
• By posting content on POP, you grant us a limited license to host, display, and distribute it within POP for product functionality.
• We do not sell your personal content.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that:

• Violate these Terms
• Harm others
• Put POP or users at risk

11. Disclaimers

POP is provided "as is". We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, specific outcomes, or perfect safety.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law: POP is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Use POP at your own risk.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes.
